FEES & OTHER COSTS

Peter McLaws at McLaws Law understands that legal fees can make it difficult to obtain needed legal representation. McLaws Law is committed to providing legal services as affordably as possible and to explaining all aspects of fees, expenses and disbursements to your complete satisfaction.

I work out of my home and, consequently, I meet with my clients at their homes or offices and this helps keep overhead low. This is reflected in the hourly rate charged for those matters where a flat fee is not appropriate.

For those matters that do lend themselves to flat fee billing such as drafting Wills and other estate documents, or residential real estate transactions, you will be advised at the outset what the work will cost.

Disbursements and expenses incurred by McLaws Law on your behalf are billed without mark-up.

McLaws Law does require that retainer funds be paid into trust at the commencement of representation and this will be discussed and fully explained during our initial meeting.

Retainers and client accounts may be paid by cash, cheque, Visa or MasterCard.
